Towards a Planned City: Revising the Spatial Planning Document for Sustainable Development

[Mamasa, September 3] - Central Statistics of Indonesia (BPS) of Mamasa Regency participated in the meeting for the Drafting of the Revised Regional Spatial Planning Document (RTRW), held at the Bappeda Building of Mamasa Regency. The event featured the Center for Technology of Hasanuddin University as the main speaker.

The meeting aimed to review and refine the RTRW document, which serves as a guide for regional development planning. In addition to BPS, the meeting was also attended by various local government agencies and other relevant stakeholders who provided input to achieve a more comprehensive and sustainable spatial planning.

The Center for Technology of Hasanuddin University highlighted the importance of data usage in spatial planning. They emphasized that accurate data and the utilization of the latest technology are essential to ensure the RTRW drafting process proceeds effectively and efficiently. BPS Mamasa played a role in providing statistical data, which is a crucial foundation for decision-making in the planning process.

Aan Setyawan, Head of BPS Mamasa, stated that most of the data used in spatial planning is available at BPS, and they are ready to assist in the spatial planning process for Mamasa Regency towards better development.

This meeting is expected to result in an RTRW revision that aligns better with the region's evolving needs and supports economic growth and the welfare of the people in Mamasa Regency.
