[Mamasa, March 11, 2024] – The Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Mamasa Regency, Aan Setyawan, attended the Plenary Meeting of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of Mamasa Regency in commemoration of the 23rd anniversary of Mamasa Regency. The event, held in the Plenary Hall of the DPRD Office of Mamasa Regency on March 11, 2025, was attended by various regional officials, community leaders, and invited guests from different sectors.The plenary meeting, opened by the Chairman of the Mamasa Regency DPRD, Agum Syaputra, was also attended by Mamasa Regent Welem Sambolangi, S.E., Mamasa Deputy Regent Drs. H. Sudirman, and a representative from the West Sulawesi Provincial Government, Dr. Yakub F. Solon, representing the Governor of West Sulawesi. Also present were members of the Mamasa Regency Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including the Commander of Military District 1428 Mamasa, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. Laode Iril Syahdar, S.IP., Mamasa District Attorney H. Muza, S.H., M.H., as well as various community and religious leaders.
The meeting began with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, and the Mamasa Regency March, followed by a speech from the Chairman of the Mamasa Regency DPRD. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of this anniversary as a moment of reflection on Mamasa Regency's development over the past 23 years. "This anniversary is not just a ceremonial event but a moment for all of us to look back at what has been achieved and what still needs improvement for the progress of Mamasa Regency," he stated.
Following the opening, the Secretary of the Mamasa Regency DPRD read a brief history of the formation of Mamasa Regency, followed by a speech from the Mamasa Regent, who reaffirmed his commitment to developing the region by involving all elements of society. In his address, the Regent also highlighted development challenges, such as economic growth, poverty levels, and the issue of stunting, which still require serious attention. "We are committed to continuously making real efforts to overcome these challenges, of course, with cooperation from all parties," said the Mamasa Regent.
As an institution responsible for providing statistical data, the Head of BPS Mamasa Regency, Aan Setyawan, also emphasized the crucial role of data in supporting regional development. "Accurate and reliable data serve as the foundation for formulating well-targeted policies. BPS is ready to support the regional government by providing the necessary data for the advancement of Mamasa Regency," he stated.
Additionally, the plenary meeting included the signing of a work plan agreement between the Mamasa Regency Government and the BPJS Health Branch in Polewali. On this occasion, the Mamasa Regent presented the Mamasa woven cloth as a symbol of regional culture to the Deputy Director of BPJS Health Regional Office 9. This cooperation is expected to improve healthcare services for the people of Mamasa.
The event also featured the handover of a small school bus as part of the 2024 fiscal year budget, the distribution of death benefit compensation from BPJS Employment, and the awarding of the first-place winner in the Mamasa Regency Student Reading Ambassador competition.
The event concluded with a joint prayer led by Mr. Deppa Tola Pawa, followed by the singing of the Mamasa Regency Hymn. The DPRD Plenary Meeting in commemoration of the 23rd Anniversary of Mamasa Regency ended in a solemn and orderly manner.
The presence of BPS Mamasa Regency at this event reaffirms its commitment to continuing synergy with the regional government in providing accurate and reliable data to support the development of a more advanced and prosperous Mamasa Regency.
