June 12, 2025 | Other Activities

[Mamasa, June 12, 2025] – The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Mamasa Regency held the first training session for the Desa Cinta Statistik (Desa Cantik program for 2025 at the Osango Village Office. This activity is part of BPS’s ongoing efforts to improve statistical literacy at the village level and to strengthen data management and utilization for more targeted and sustainable village development.

The training was attended by village officials of Osango and appointed village statistical agents who will support the implementation of the Desa Cantik program moving forward.

Desa Cantik is an initiative by BPS as the leading institution in national statistical development. The main goal is to encourage villages to manage their own data independently, accurately, and sustainably. This aligns with the vision of achieving a unified data system for Indonesia, starting from the village level.

The event was officially opened by the Secretary of Osango Village, Marten Lantho Tiboyong, who expressed his hope for the positive impact of this program on the village. “I hope this Desa Cantik training can provide a clear understanding of data and statistics. With complete data, our work will be easier and it will help us meet the data needs for our village development,” he said.

The first training session focused on the topics of Statistical Metadata and Data Collection. These topics are essential to understanding how data should be properly collected, organized, and used. Participants were introduced to the concept of metadata, the importance of standardized data, and basic techniques for data collection based on proper statistical methods.

This activity is expected to be a strong first step in building a culture of statistics in Osango Village, by encouraging active participation from village officials and statistical agents in every stage of data management.
