Prior to the data collection, BPS Mamasa conducted a series of training sessions for field officers. The training was held online on August 19–20, 2026, followed by an offline session on August 21, 2026. The training aimed to provide officers with an understanding of the concepts, definitions, and procedures for completing the SKP questionnaire in accordance with the established guidelines.
The 2026 SKP involved 11 Field Enumerators (PPL) and 4 Field Supervisors (PML), who collected data from 420 sampled Agricultural Business Households (RTUP).
One of the challenges encountered during the data collection was that some main sampled agricultural households (RTUP) were no longer engaged in the primary agricultural subsector covered by the survey. In such cases, the officers replaced the main samples with reserve samples in accordance with the applicable procedures.
Julian Emba Mangosa’, the Subject-Matter Specialist and Regional Training Instructor for the 2026 Agricultural Household Welfare Survey, stated that the implementation of the survey had generally proceeded well and provided important insights into the social and economic conditions of farmers. “From an operational perspective, coordination between the subject-matter team and field officers has been an important factor in ensuring a proper understanding of concepts and definitions, as well as accurate completion of the survey instruments in accordance with the guidelines,” he said.
Through the implementation of the 2026 SKP, BPS Mamasa continues to strive to produce quality data on farmers’ welfare. The data are expected to provide a clearer picture of farmers’ social and economic conditions and support statistical needs for agricultural development planning and evaluation.
