Abstract

• In March 2020, the percentage of poor people (the population with per capita per month below the poverty line) in the province of Sulawesi Barat at 10.87 percent, down 0.08 percentage points compared to September 2019 and a decrease of 0.15 percentage points compared to March 2019
• In absolute number of poor people of Sulawesi Barat province in March 2020 as much as 152.02 thousand inhabitants, an increase of 0.15 thousand inhabitants compared to September 2019 and increased by 0.62 thousand inhabitants compared to March 2019.
• The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2019 amounted to 9.41 per cent increase to 9.59 percent in March 2020. While the percentage of poor people in rural areas in September 2019 amounted to 11.43 percent decline to 11.26 percent in March 2020.
• The role of food commodities to the poverty line is greater than the role of non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). Donations to the Food Poverty Line Poverty Line in March 2020 stood at 77.17 per cent. This condition is not much different from the conditions of September 2019 in the amount of 77.36 percent.
