The number of labor force in August 2022 was 749.45 thousand people, up 40.70 thousand people compared to August 2021. In line with the decline in the number of labor force, the level of labor force participation (TPAK) also increased by 2.73 percent points.
The August 2022 open unemployment (TPT) was 2.34 percent, down 0.79 percent points compared to August 2021.
The residents who worked as many as 731.90 thousand people had increased by 45.36 thousand people from August 2021. Employment that increased the largest percentage was agriculture, forestry and fisheries (3.02 percent points). While the sector that experienced the biggest decline was the manufacturing industry (1.10 percent points).
A total of 565.41 thousand people (77.25 percent) worked in informal activities, up 4.45 percent points compared to August 2021.
The percentage of unemployed workers increased by 2.39 percent points, while the percentage of part -time workers also increased by 4.37 percent points compared to August 2021.
There are 10.19 thousand people (0.99 percent of the working age population) affected by COVID-19. Consists of unemployment because of Covid-19 (0.16 thousand people), not the workforce (BAK) because Covid-19 (0.93 thousand people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to COVID-19 (9.10 thousand person).
