Abstract

In September 2022, the percentage of poor population (population with expenditure per capita per month below the poverty line) in Sulawesi Barat Province was 11.92 percent or an increase of 0.17 percent points compared to March 2022 and increased 0.07 percent points compared to September 2021 .

Absolute, the number of poor people in Sulawesi Barat Province in September 2022 was 169.26 thousand inhabitants, increased by 3.54 thousand people compared to March 2022 and increased by 3.27 thousand people compared to September 2021.

The percentage of poor population in urban areas in March 2022 amounted to 9.76 percent down to 9.33 percent in September 2022. Meanwhile, the percentage of poor population in rural areas increased from 12.26 percent in March 2022 to 12.58 percent at September 2022.

The role of food commodities on poverty lines is greater than the role of non -food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). The contribution of the poverty line to the poverty line in September 2022 was 77.10 percent. This condition decreased compared to March 2022 which was 77.55 percent.
