BPS Sulbar Province Ratekda: Optimize the Utilization of ST2023 Results

[Mamuju, December 6, 2023] – The Central Statistics Agency of West Sulawesi Province (BPS Sulbar) organized the Technical Meeting for the 2023 Agricultural Census (ST2023) for two effective days, on November 6 and 7, 2023. The event took place at the Ballroom of Hotel Maleo in Mamuju, with participants including the heads of ST2023 field teams, all coordinating teams from each district, and regional government agencies within the West Sulawesi Province.


The event was attended and inaugurated by the Acting Governor of West Sulawesi, Prof Zudan Arif Fakrulloh SH., MH. It continued with a panel discussion on "Talkshow: Utilizing the Results of ST2023 for Food Sovereignty and Farmer Welfare" featuring speakers Ir. M. Nurbakti, M.Si., Dr. Junda Maulana, and M.Si., Prof. Dr. Ir. Kaimuddin, M.Si. "The data from ST2023 Phase I was released on December 4, accompanied by dissemination products such as BRS, booklets, and leaflets," clarified Nurbakti.


"The utilization of ST2023 data includes determining the direction of agricultural policy, setting targets and performance indicators for the agricultural sector, improving the effectiveness of agricultural programs and activities, evaluating the implementation of agricultural policies, and supporting sustainable agriculture development," explained Junda. "Optimal utilization of ST2023 results is expected to stimulate more even and sustainable agricultural development, thereby enhancing the well-being of farmers and the overall community in West Sulawesi," added Kaimuddin.


The second day began with a Capacity Building activity aimed at enhancing familiarity, cohesion, and collaboration among participants. It concluded with a presentation on "How to develop public communication?" by Adi Arwan Alimin. "To deliver effective public speaking, confidence, mastery of the material, continuous learning/reading, and extensive practice are necessary," said Adi. BPS personnel must master public speaking to effectively convey the generated data, making it easier for the public to understand and comprehend the information.
