[Mamasa, 5 September 2024] – Central Statistics of Indonesia (BPS) of Mamasa Regency held training for field officers of the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) and the Quarterly Household Economic Survey (Seruti) for the September 2024 period. The training took place over three days, from September 2 to 4, 2024, at Hotel Sajojo, Mamasa.

The training event was officially opened by the Head of BPS Mamasa Regency, Mr. Aan Setyawan, SST., M.Si. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of the role of field officers in producing accurate and valid data. "Susenas and Seruti are crucial surveys for national policy planning. Therefore, I hope that the officers participating in this training take it seriously and carefully listen to the explanations from the national instructors, so they can thoroughly understand the concepts, definitions, and technical aspects of the data collection process," he said.

The training was led by National Instructor, Mr. Fajar Rizky Pujo Prastowo, S.Tr.Stat, who delivered materials on survey methodology, interview techniques, the concepts and definitions of Susenas and Seruti, as well as the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for field data collection. Additionally, participants took part in simulations or role-playing exercises to prepare them for real-life field situations.

A total of 17 officers participated in the training, consisting of 12 Field Data Collection Officers (PCL) and 5 Field Supervisory Officers (PML). They will be the front line in the data collection process, which will be conducted in 12 Census Blocks spread across 10 sub-districts in Mamasa Regency.

BPS Mamasa hopes that through this training, the officers will be able to perform their duties with high professionalism, ensuring that the data collected can serve as a foundation for well-targeted development planning.

This training reflects BPS's commitment to maintaining the quality of national data, with the hope that the results of the September 2024 Susenas and Seruti will provide an accurate picture of the socio-economic conditions of the Mamasa Regency community.
