Abstract

In September 2021, the percentage of the poor (residents with per capita expenditure per month below the poverty line) in Sulawesi Barat Province was 11.85 percent, increased by 0.56 percent points compared to March 2021 and increased by 0.35 percent compared to September 2020 .

Absolute, the number of poor people of Sulawesi Barat Province in September 2021 as many as 165.99 thousand, increased by 8.80 thousand if compared to March 2021 and increased by 6.94 thousand people compared to September 2020.

The percentage of the poor in urban areas in March 2021 was 9.82 percent fell to 9.72 percent in September 2021. Conversely, the percentage of poor people in rural areas increased from 11.67 percent in March 2021 to 12.39 percent in September 2021.

The role of food commodities on poverty lines is greater than the role of non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). The food poverty line contribution to the poverty line in September 2021 was 77.47 percent. This condition increases when compared to March 2021, which is 76.80 percent.
