Ahead of Christmas and New Year (Nataru), a coordination meeting for the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) was held in the Mini Hall of the Regent's Office House, 19 December 2022. The TPID Coordination Meeting was held nationally through the Zoom Meeting (Online) application. Mamasa Regency BPS was invited to attend the coordination meeting to monitor inflation.
Inflation is the percentage rate of increase in the price of a number of goods and services that are generally consumed by households. Inflation is calculated using the CPI indicator (Consumer Price Index). CPI is a comparison between the price of a commodity package from a group of goods or services (market basket) in a certain period to the price in a predetermined period of time (base year). Regencies that do not calculate inflation, do price development index (IPH) calculations. This index is calculated using 20 selected commodities, which include rice, purebred chicken meat, purebred chicken eggs, onions and chilies. This December, nationally, the commodities that are still and will experience increases given their price developments, namely rice, eggs, and purebred chicken. Shallots and garlic are creeping up even though their progress is quite sloping. On the other hand, bird's eye chilies and red chilies began to slope and fall.
After participating in the National TPID Coordination Meeting, the Mamasa Regency TPID, together with the Deputy Regent, Marthinus Tiranda, S.IP, monitored prices at the Macau Market. From the results of price monitoring, there were no significant price increases for staple household commodities, but price increases were obtained than usual for several basic necessities such as rice, chilies and onions.
