[Mamasa, December 11, 2023] - The Head of the Mamasa District Central Statistics Agency, Aan Setyawan, participated in a surprise inspection of markets and price monitoring to guard against price surges leading up to the Christmas and New Year celebrations in 2024. The market inspection activity was led directly by the Acting Regent of Mamasa, Yakub F Solon, accompanied by the Mamasa Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID).
The market inspection began by assessing price and product stocks at the nearest supermarkets. It then proceeded to traverse the streets around Kondosapata Square towards grocery stores and LPG gas vendors. The inspection continued along the streets leading to Jenol Market, where various commodities were queried for both price and availability. Some of the highlighted commodities included chili, sugar, rice, chicken meat, and so on.
From the market inspection, it was observed that some commodities experienced a price increase compared to the previous month. For instance, bird's eye chili rose from seventy-five thousand to ninety-five thousand per kilogram, red chili increased from seventy-five thousand to eighty-five thousand per kilogram, and granulated sugar rose from sixteen thousand to eighteen thousand. During the market inspection, the Head of the Mamasa District Central Statistics Agency, Aan Setyawan, expressed the commitment to continuously monitor prices in collaboration with the Cooperative, Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises, Industry, and Trade Agency (Koperindag). Furthermore, the Acting Regent of Mamasa hopes that the availability and prices of goods can be maintained to remain stable during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
