Abstract

Based on the results of the Consumer Price Survey 82 cities in Indonesia in August 2015, showed that 59 cities experienced inflation and 23 cities deflation. The highest inflation was in Tanjung Pandan 2.29 percent with CPI of 128.17 and the lowest at 0.02 percent with CPI Probolinggo 120.36. While the highest deflation in Ambon -1.77 percent with CPI of 119.95 and the lowest at 0.01 percent with CPI Singkawang 120.88. With deflation of -0.20 percent and CPI 119.58, Mamuju ranks 18th out of 59 cities experiencing deflation. Deflation in Mamuju in August 2015 due to decreased price indicated by a decrease in the price index in the four groups of expenditure, namely: transport, communication and financial services -0.96 percent; clothing -0.45 percent; health groups -0.22 percent; foodstuffs -0.06 percent. While the other three groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely: food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.01 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel and education, recreation and sport respectively increased 0.06 percent. Rate of change of the index in August 2015 calendar year in Mamuju is inflation of 2.34 per cent while the inflation rate year-on-year (August 2015 to August 2014) amounted to 7.01 percent. Indonesia in August 2015 experienced inflation of 0.39 percent with CPI of 121.73. As for the calendar year until August 2015, Indonesia experienced inflation of 2.29 percent and the index for the year to year change (August 2015 to August 2014) experienced inflation of 7.18 percent.
