Abstract

Farmers Exchange Rate (NTP) West Sulawesi in May 2015 amounted to 103.79; NTP increased 0.90 percent compared to April 2015 amounted to 102.87. In addition, the NTP according to the subsector recorded for Food Crops subsector (NTP-P) 97.65; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 99.13; Smallholder Crop Subsector (NTP-R) 112.23; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 101.36; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN) 99.77. NTP Fisheries Subsector formed from the combination of fisheries and aquaculture has the NTP respectively by 99.57 and 100.13. The monitoring results indicate the occurrence of rural consumer price inflation in the rural areas of West Sulawesi in May 2015 amounted to 0.38 percent, which is generally triggered by the rising price index seven expenditure groups, where the price index of food expenditure group increased by 0.39 percent, the price index of the group spending foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco increased by 0.44 percent, housing expenditure price index by 0.19 percent, the price index of clothing expenditure group by 0.23 percent, health expenditures price index group by 0.71 percent, expenditure price index of education, recreation and sports at 0.07 percent and transportation and communication expenses of 0.50 percent. Inflation in rural areas occurred in 29 provinces in Indonesia, the highest in Central Kalimantan 0.97 percent and the lowest in West Nusa Tenggara 0.003 percent. Meanwhile four rural provinces experiencing deflation, the highest in East Nusa Tenggara -0.24 percent and the lowest in Jakarta -0.01 percent. West Sulawesi ranks 19th of 29 provinces experienced inflation. On a national scale, NTP month of May 2015 amounted to 100.02; fell by -0.12 percent compared to April 2015, and experienced inflation of 0.60 percent rural.
